Theology of Prayer

Prayer, that's one word that is not alien to human beings who acknowledge the existence of a divine person.
The extent to which we find people who acknowledge the existence of god, there we must find activities  is called a prayer or pray. Then how can we understand the "prayer" or "praying" with the proper perspective.
